~Posters to turn off lights and fans when not in use

Waste Management

~No plastic policy at the coffee shop: all the take-away package is eco-friendly, and the plastic bags are made of out plants. They also sell tote bags for customers.

~Bayon is moving towards a no straw policy by using reusable straws for the fresh coconuts.

~Sorting of waste: Bayon has 6 different bins to sort the waste and recycle.

~The food scraps are composted to be used in the garden

~Use soap from Naga earth, that is made from old cooking oil and can be refilled

Local Support

~Local support is Bayon's strongest asset: 100% of the NGO's employees are Cambodian and most of them are coming from an underprivileged background. The waitresses of the coffee shop are former students.

~100% of the students of the pastry school get a job with a good salary and moved from their parent's hometown to become independent

~ Some of the children from Bayon's school are now in universities or got a good job, enabling them to send their own  kids to private Cambodian school.

~Bayon also supports the families to develop local businesses. They provided sewing machine to sell pepper bags or tote bag at the coffee shop and provided some others with farming training and equipment to grow organic vegetables. Some of these vegetables are then bought by Bayon or sold at a market organised by the school.

Environmentally-friendly purchase

~Use of paper as packaging

~Grow their own organic vegetables to use at the canteen (for students)

~Use glass material instead of plastic so there is no sale of plastic bottles in the coffee shop

~Banned the use of pesticides in their green garden project and their garden

~Working with Pestlab to control mosquitoes and insect in a eco-friendly way
